Bentley – Shitzu cross

Category - Adopted Dogs

Update Nov 10, 2017: Congratulations to Bentley! He’s now living happily ever after in his forever home!

November 6, 2017:
Hi, my name is Bentley. I am a 7 year old Shih Tzu cross. I was found wandering the streets looking for my family when Animal Control picked me up to keep me safe. They tried to find my family but no one came for me. Paws 4 Hope took me into their rescue to help me find a new family.

I am a very relaxed, calm dog. I like to sit on your lap and watch TV. I am house broken and don’t mind being in a crate. I like car rides because that means I get to spend even more time with my family. I am good with other dogs, I wouldn’t mind having a friend to play with. My teeth were not in very good shape but now they are nice and shiny, even though I had to have a few pulled. I am current on all vaccinations, neutered, microchipped, and healthy.

Eva – Great Dane

October 31st, 2017
Category - Adopted Dogs

Eva is a 2 year old Great Dane. She has had a rough start in life living with too many other dogs and not always getting enough food. On top of everything else, she has even had a litter of puppies. She is a big cuddle bug and just wants to be where her people are. Eva gets along great with other dogs and so far she doesn’t seem to be too interested in cats. Hopefully her new family will have a big vehicle because she loves to go for rides.

We would like to see Eva have a family without any young children because her size can be overwhelming even though she is just a gentle giant. It is important that she has a tall fence, preferable not chain link, as Eva can be a climber. She knows basic commands and is getting better on the leash.

Eva is current on all vaccinations, spayed and microchipped. Great Dane experience preferred.

Baloo – Great Dane

October 31st, 2017
Category - Adopted Dogs

Updated Nov 25, 2017: Congratulations to Baloo! He’s found a forever home! Look how happy he is!

Oct 31, 2017:

Baloo is a beautiful, 2 year old blue Great Dane. Baloo has had a rough start in life, living with too many dogs and not getting enough food. He is under weight but now with good food and lots of love from his foster family, he is gaining weight and confidence. He is good in the house and loves to be with his family. Baloo hates to be left behind because he loves to go for rides in the car!

Playing fetch, and playing with his squeaky toys are some of his favorite things to do. He knows a few basic commands but he is so smart he could add a few more to his list easily. He likes other dogs but needs time to get to know them. Even though Baloo is such a gentle giant we feel he needs to be in a family with older children because of his size and strength. We would prefer to see him go to an adopter that is familiar with the Great Dane breed. Baloo is neutered, current on all vaccinations and microchipped.

Gus – Australian Shepherd / Pyrenees cross

October 26th, 2017
Category - Adopted Dogs

Updated 12/9/17: Congratulations to Gus! He’s found a loving and furever home!
Hi, my name is Gus and I am an active 2 1/2 year old Australian Shepherd Pyrenees cross. My previous owner did not have the energy I have, so he thought it would be best if Paws 4 Hope could find me a family with older kids (because I am so big) and other dogs to play with.

I am house broke and good in the house. I do slobber sometimes when I am nervous or I think I am going to eat a treat. I love to go for rides in the car, play fetch and tug a war. It is best if I have a fenced yard because when I get out I like to go visit the neighbors, I am just a social dog. I am current on all vaccinations, neutered and microchipped. Will you be my forever home?

Scooter – Schnauzer Terrier Cross

Updateed 11/19/17: Congratulations to Scooter! He’s found a forever home!

This handsome boy is Scooter. He is a miniature Schnauzer Terrier cross. Someone dropped him off at the local shelter. We think he is about 9 months old and is fully vetted and micro chipped. Scooter has had something traumatic happen to him early in his short life, as he will not come out of his crate if someone is nearby, especially men.

It takes some coaxing, but once in your arms he is very well behaved. Has been started on leash training and some socializing with other dogs and people. He frightens easily with sudden movements or noises. He whines a bit when separated but does not bark.

He has shared a kennel with fellow rescue Charlie for the last four months and they get along great. Once he gains your trust, he would be a devoted house pet to cuddle with and keep you company. We would like to see him get adopted with Charlie as they seem to be bonded. He is going to take a lot of patience but will be worth the effort.

Jagger – German Shepherd

September 22nd, 2017
Category - Adopted Dogs

Update 9/27/17: Congratulations to Jagger! He’s so happy to have found a forever home!

Sept 22, 2017:
This gorgeous boy is Jagger. He is a one year old, 76 pound sweetheart. Jagger was abandoned in the country and wandered to a home and decided to stay. Unable to keep him, he was brought into our rescue. He is mostly German Shepherd, but not a purebred. Jagger loves people and wants to please. He gets a bit anxious but settles down after you love on him. He knows some basic commands and loves to play fetch or frisbee. He is treat motivated so he should be easy to train. Jagger gets along with other dogs, was fine with older kids, but he may be too excitable for small children, and didn’t bother the cat at the vet. He is very intelligent and will make a wonderful companion. Jagger would love to have a large yard to play in and a person with German Shepard experience to welcome him into their home. Jagger is neutered, current on vaccinations and microchipped.

Lilly – Great Dane / Boxer Mix Puppy

September 10th, 2017
Category - Adopted Dogs

UPDATE 9/19/17: We are no longer accepting application for Lilly as we have received many wonderful applications and will be reviewing them to determine the best home for her. We will notify applicants when a home has been selected and will update this post at that time.
This sweet girl is only 4 months old and is as sweet as can be! She will be available for adoption September 21st. She is currently in foster care and is looking forward to a forever home. Lilly will need moderate protection from the sun since with her light skin, she could become sunburned easily. She will be a big girl one day, so a home that can care for a large dog will be necessary. Applications are currently being accepted.

Bear – German Shepherd / Idaho Fuzzy Cross

July 26th, 2017
Category - Adopted Dogs

Updated 8/11/17: Congratulations to Bear! He’s found his forever home!
Meet Bear, a 2 year old male German Shepherd / Idaho Fuzzy cross. Bear would love nothing more than to be someone’s best friend. He is very smart and tries so hard to please. He loves people, including children. He hasn’t had the experience of being an indoors pet yet, but could be taught, as he would love to be even closer to his people. He would do best as an only dog, and he doesn’t like cats. He is doing well on a leash, and has learned basic commands. He responds best to calm, patient, yet firm training. He needs to know he is safe and loved.

Bear needs confident and loving guidance. He has made big improvements since coming into the rescue and is trying hard to be a good pet. He will be a devoted member of a family, or a loyal companion for a couple or single person wanting a sweet pet in their lives. Bear needs a home where he can spend a lot of time with his people.

Bear is neutered, current on vaccinations, and microchipped. He weighed 60 lbs at vetting, and has gained weight since then, but is still quite thin. As he continues to be well fed, he’ll reach a more healthy weight. If you are looking for a big dog with a huge heart, you will love Bear!

Susie – Min-Pin

July 12th, 2017
Category - Adopted Dogs

Updated 12/9/17: Congratulations to Susie! She’s found a loving and furever home!
July 12, 2017:
My name is Susie and I am a three year old Min-Pin. It would be nice to have a family who would like a small dog to snuggle and play with. I would also do well with another small dog for a playmate. I like to go on walks since I’m good on a leash, and I also like to ride in the car. My foster mom says I’m so alert to my surroundings that no one will sneak into the house. Did I mention that I come when I’m called!

I am great with both older and small children. I am good with other dogs but really big ones scare me. I am also house trained but I don’t care to be crated. I am spayed, have had all my vaccinations and microchipped. I can live with cats as long as we are properly introduced. My favorite place in the house is on someone’s lap, but I’m okay by myself when necessary.

Cocoa – Chihuahua

July 12th, 2017
Category - Adopted Dogs

Updated 7/27/17: Congratulations Cocoa! She has been adopted into a forever home!

July 12, 2017:

Hi, my name is Cocoa. I am a female Chihuahua. I was dropped off in the country with my two friends Susie and Charlie. We didn’t know where to go or what to do, but a nice couple took us in for a few days. Unfortunately they could not keep us so they contacted Paws 4 Hope to see if they could help my friends and me out. I am about five months old, and have had all my vaccinations and microchipped. I am not spayed yet because I am still young and very small.

I love to cuddle and play. I like to go on walks since I am very good on the leash. I am sorry to say I am not house broken, but I am sure I can figure it out if someone is willing to teach me. I am good with other dogs, but I am not real comfortable with really big dogs because I am so small. Did I mention I can get bossy with other dogs? But that’s because sometimes I like to be in charge. I can also live with cats. I know my friends cannot go with me to my forever home, so it would be nice to have a family who wants to spend lots of time and love with me.

Gus – Basset Mix

May 28th, 2017
Category - Adopted Dogs

Update 8/14/17: Congratulations to Gus! He’s found a forever home. What a happy dog!
May 28, 2017:
Gus-4Gus, a male Basset Hound mix, approximately 1½ years old, was found wandering the streets lost and alone. We brought him into the Rescue and since then, we’ve found him to be just a delightful dog that is sweet, friendly, and happy. He is great with other dogs, doesn’t mind cats and is good with children.

Since Gus is still quite a puppy, we recommend older children until he learns not to jump up on them. Gus is currently working on house training and manners. He is a sweet boy that will make a great family member. He is up to date on vaccinations, neutered and microchipped. He is 32 lbs of love hoping to find his forever home.
