Chloe, Great Dane Puppy

February 10th, 2018
Category - Available Dogs

My name is Chloe. I am a sweet 6 month old Great Dane. Life was not easy for me until Paws 4 Hope took me in. I was with my brothers and sisters where we were left outside and not fed a lot of food after my mom left us.

Because of poor nutrition, my bones grew faster than my ligaments so my legs became very bent. No one wanted me because of my legs. I went to a couple different homes just to be returned. Paws 4 Hope took me in and with very good food and exercise, my legs started to straighten out within 3 weeks! According to the 2 vets I’ve seen, they say I should be fine the rest of my life as long as I do not gain too much weight and have proper nutrition.

I love to play with other dogs! Cats are okay, even though I want to play with them too. The only problem is that I don’t realize I am a big puppy who weighs 50 pounds. That being said, it would be best if I am in a house with older children, so no one gets knocked down. I am not house trained yet, but I do know how to use a dog door.

I am good on a leash and I am trying to learn basic commands, but sit is the only one I really like to do. I need a home where I can get out of the cold and stay warm, because my hair is very short. I have had all my vaccinations, and I’m microchipped. It is best if I am not spayed until I’m year old. If you think I am a dog you would like to be part of your family, please contact Paws 4 Hope.

Zoe – Yorkie Pomeranian Cross

February 6th, 2018
Category - Adopted Dogs

Updated Feb 13, 2018: Congratulations to Zoe! She’s found a loving and forever home!
Feb 6, 2018:
Hi, my name is Zoe and I am looking for a new family. I am a cute little Yorkie girl, and maybe a Pomeranian mix that weighs about 7 pounds soaking wet. I am 7 years old, so that makes me middle age, but I am very young at heart. I enjoy going on long walks, riding in the car and my favorite is sitting on someone’s lap.

I love children and they love me. Cats and I are good friends, including dogs who are not too big. I am house trained and know some basic commands. I have just been to the vet, so I am current on all my shots, spayed, microchipped, and my teeth are clean (you should see my smile now).

If you have room in your heart and family for me, please contact Paws 4 Hope.

Izzy – Cocker Spaniel Puppy

February 5th, 2018
Category - Adopted Dogs

Updated Feb 13, 2018: Congratulations to Izzy! She’s found a loving and forever home!
Hi! My name is Izzy. I am 8 weeks old and I’m looking for a loving family to take care of me. I really don’t think I will be any trouble, I just need some special care. You see, when I was born, there was a heat lamp to keep me and my siblings warm when we arrived. We came a bit quicker than expected during the night, and I had rolled off the bed away from the heat. I got frostbite on my back feet and lost my pads and most of my toes.

I was almost put down, but the doctor believed I was worth saving and could still have a good life in spite of my misfortune.

I don’t have a problem getting around, but I will need to be an indoor girl. You may even want to buy me some fashionable boots so I can go outside to romp around. If you are an experienced Cocker Spaniel owner with a soft spot for a girl with special needs, I’ll give you all my love and devotion. Please contact Paws 4 Hope Rescue and let’s see if we can become a family.

Moe – Male Schnoodle Puppy

December 29th, 2017
Category - Adopted Dogs

Update January 13, 2018: Congratulations to Moe! He’s found a loving and forever home!

December 29, 2017:
Moe is a very loving 8 month old Schnoodle – a Schnauzer Poodle cross. A great combination for someone that wants a dog that doesn’t shed. Moe has had a tough time in his short life. His neck was broken, and he had to spend several weeks at the vet for treatment and recovery. He is now a happy puppy looking for a forever home.

Moe can be with other small dogs but would do best in a home without young children. Even though he is doing fine and is very active, he needs to avoid being too rough, or getting into a tug of war match or anything that could put a strain on his neck. He cannot wear a collar, so will need to have a harness for walks. He loves people and snuggling on the couch. He is working on house training and has not gone potty in his kennel at night. A fenced yard is needed for Moe.

Moe is up to date on vaccinations, neutered and microchipped. We are located in Southern Idaho and adopt in the Northwest within an 8 to 10 hour driving distance.

Precious – Great Dane / Boxer Mix

December 17th, 2017
Category - Adopted Dogs

Updated Jan 31, 2018: Congratulations to Precious! She has found a loving and forever home!
Dec 17, 2017:
Precious is a sweet one year old Great Dane/Boxer cross. She is a very social girl and loves to be around people. She knows the sit and heel commands and also has been great on her house training. She is a strong girl and does want to lead on the leash. Precious isn’t much of a barker but she does announce visitors. She has played well with her foster sister who is much smaller than Precious. She loves treats so she would be easy to train with food motivation. Precious would need a fenced yard with room to romp around and a family with older children because of her size and puppy playfulness. She has been spayed, is up to date on vaccinations and has been microchipped.

Bentley – Shitzu cross

November 6th, 2017
Category - Adopted Dogs

Update Nov 10, 2017: Congratulations to Bentley! He’s now living happily ever after in his forever home!

November 6, 2017:
Hi, my name is Bentley. I am a 7 year old Shih Tzu cross. I was found wandering the streets looking for my family when Animal Control picked me up to keep me safe. They tried to find my family but no one came for me. Paws 4 Hope took me into their rescue to help me find a new family.

I am a very relaxed, calm dog. I like to sit on your lap and watch TV. I am house broken and don’t mind being in a crate. I like car rides because that means I get to spend even more time with my family. I am good with other dogs, I wouldn’t mind having a friend to play with. My teeth were not in very good shape but now they are nice and shiny, even though I had to have a few pulled. I am current on all vaccinations, neutered, microchipped, and healthy.

Eva – Great Dane

October 31st, 2017
Category - Adopted Dogs

Eva is a 2 year old Great Dane. She has had a rough start in life living with too many other dogs and not always getting enough food. On top of everything else, she has even had a litter of puppies. She is a big cuddle bug and just wants to be where her people are. Eva gets along great with other dogs and so far she doesn’t seem to be too interested in cats. Hopefully her new family will have a big vehicle because she loves to go for rides.

We would like to see Eva have a family without any young children because her size can be overwhelming even though she is just a gentle giant. It is important that she has a tall fence, preferable not chain link, as Eva can be a climber. She knows basic commands and is getting better on the leash.

Eva is current on all vaccinations, spayed and microchipped. Great Dane experience preferred.

Baloo – Great Dane

October 31st, 2017
Category - Adopted Dogs

Updated Nov 25, 2017: Congratulations to Baloo! He’s found a forever home! Look how happy he is!

Oct 31, 2017:

Baloo is a beautiful, 2 year old blue Great Dane. Baloo has had a rough start in life, living with too many dogs and not getting enough food. He is under weight but now with good food and lots of love from his foster family, he is gaining weight and confidence. He is good in the house and loves to be with his family. Baloo hates to be left behind because he loves to go for rides in the car!

Playing fetch, and playing with his squeaky toys are some of his favorite things to do. He knows a few basic commands but he is so smart he could add a few more to his list easily. He likes other dogs but needs time to get to know them. Even though Baloo is such a gentle giant we feel he needs to be in a family with older children because of his size and strength. We would prefer to see him go to an adopter that is familiar with the Great Dane breed. Baloo is neutered, current on all vaccinations and microchipped.

Gus – Australian Shepherd / Pyrenees cross

October 26th, 2017
Category - Adopted Dogs

Updated 12/9/17: Congratulations to Gus! He’s found a loving and furever home!
Hi, my name is Gus and I am an active 2 1/2 year old Australian Shepherd Pyrenees cross. My previous owner did not have the energy I have, so he thought it would be best if Paws 4 Hope could find me a family with older kids (because I am so big) and other dogs to play with.

I am house broke and good in the house. I do slobber sometimes when I am nervous or I think I am going to eat a treat. I love to go for rides in the car, play fetch and tug a war. It is best if I have a fenced yard because when I get out I like to go visit the neighbors, I am just a social dog. I am current on all vaccinations, neutered and microchipped. Will you be my forever home?

Purdy – American Staffordshire Terrier Mix

October 17th, 2017
Category - Available Dogs

My name is Purdy and I just got my DNA results back. I am 37.5% American Staffordshire Terrier and 12.5% each of Alaskan Malamute, Labrador Retriever and White Swiss Shepherd along with some herding dog. I’m 1 1/2 years old and I’m a very sweet and lovable girl! I love people and would like to become someone’s new best friend. I love to go for walks, I’m good on a leash and could possibly be your hiking or running partner.

I am spayed, current on all vaccinations, and microchipped. My foster mom says I am a happy girl bursting with personality. I know basic commands, am super smart, learn quickly, and really want to please. I am also house trained. I’m good with older kids, but I’ve not been around little ones. I don’t really like female dogs but have been good with the boys. I would just need a proper introduction to my new male friend. I seem okay with cats, also with proper introduction. I enjoy sitting next to my people and watching tv especially if there are dogs on it. If you have room in your heart for a sweet dog that is hoping for a loving and forever home, I’ve been waiting for you! Check out the video of Purdy playing with her foster brother below.

Here’s a picture of me all dressed up, hoping and wishing that someone will want me to bring joy to their home and life this Christmas:

Scooter – Schnauzer Terrier Cross

October 6th, 2017
Category - Adopted Dogs

Updateed 11/19/17: Congratulations to Scooter! He’s found a forever home!
Oct 6, 2017:
output 3
This handsome boy is Scooter. He is a miniature Schnauzer Terrier cross. Someone dropped him off at the local shelter. We think he is about 9 months old and is fully vetted and micro chipped. Scooter has had something traumatic happen to him early in his short life, as he will not come out of his crate if someone is nearby, especially men.

It takes some coaxing, but once in your arms he is very well behaved. Has been started on leash training and some socializing with other dogs and people. He frightens easily with sudden movements or noises. He whines a bit when separated but does not bark.

He has shared a kennel with fellow rescue Charlie for the last four months and they get along great. Once he gains your trust, he would be a devoted house pet to cuddle with and keep you company. We would like to see him get adopted with Charlie as they seem to be bonded. He is going to take a lot of patience but will be worth the effort.

Jagger – German Shepherd

September 22nd, 2017
Category - Adopted Dogs

Update 9/27/17: Congratulations to Jagger! He’s so happy to have found a forever home!

Sept 22, 2017:
This gorgeous boy is Jagger. He is a one year old, 76 pound sweetheart. Jagger was abandoned in the country and wandered to a home and decided to stay. Unable to keep him, he was brought into our rescue. He is mostly German Shepherd, but not a purebred. Jagger loves people and wants to please. He gets a bit anxious but settles down after you love on him. He knows some basic commands and loves to play fetch or frisbee. He is treat motivated so he should be easy to train. Jagger gets along with other dogs, was fine with older kids, but he may be too excitable for small children, and didn’t bother the cat at the vet. He is very intelligent and will make a wonderful companion. Jagger would love to have a large yard to play in and a person with German Shepard experience to welcome him into their home. Jagger is neutered, current on vaccinations and microchipped.
